Alkaloid Recognized for Contribution to Innovative Development and Competitiveness in Bulgaria

Over the past 5 years, Alkaloid has obtained 119 trademark registrations in the Bulgarian market, as documented by the National Map of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Bulgaria project

The company's proactive approach to innovation and market differentiation – a cornerstone of Alkaloid AD Skopje's corporate principles – has already earned recognition across international markets.Ranking fourth among legal entities in Bulgaria for trademark registrations from 2020 to 2025, Alkaloid received the Recognition for Contribution to Innovative Development and Competitiveness in the Republic of Bulgaria within the National Map of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Bulgaria project.


Dr. Goran Kadiev, Manager of Alkaloid’s representative office in Bulgaria, received the prestigious award during a formal ceremony attended by senior government officials. This recognition marked the culmination of a project executed by the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia through the Institute for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Prof. Dr. Borislav Borisov. The project was carried out in partnership with Bulgaria's Ministry of Culture, the Patent Office, the National Institute of Statistics, and national associations of municipalities and municipal council presidents.


The analytical national survey on intellectual property encompassed 23 indicators within this field, focusing particularly on 8 key metrics – 4 related to industrial property and 4 to literary and artistic property.

Established in Bulgaria more than 3 decades ago, Alkaloid's representative office currently employs around 60 professionals. The company’s portfolio includes over 130 registered product forms, ranging from prescription medications to over-the-counter products and food supplements.
